Growing up can sometimes be really hard, especially these days with the pressures of social media added into the mix. Sometimes our expectations can be unrealistically high and this can cause a lot of distress and unhappiness within us.

It’s so important to look after our mental health just as it is our physical well-being. If we don’t understand our thoughts and feelings and cannot share them with someone it can make us feel anxious and unwell. That’s where Counselling can help.

Sometimes, just being able to express our feelings out loud to a kind person who will listen can ease this anxiety. Also, by listening giving the  reassurance needed for that person to have more confidence in themselves

Perhaps you are a parent desperately worried that there might be something wrong? I have many years of experience and expertise particularly with this age group.

As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I find that sometimes a combination of Counselling and Hypnotherapy works very well with youngsters. As the Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind, it helps to make the young person feel less pressured about the problem and more focused on the solution in a positive, fun and relaxing way.

This method is very effective for:

Low self -esteem and confidence issues

Exam nerves and focus

Sleep issues/ night terrors



I do encourage parents to sit in during sessions if the child is under the age of 16 years. It’s a very enjoyable, relaxing therapy which can have benefits for the whole family.
